DALAT: Persistent efforts and the effective use of available resources help students to succeed, particularly in rural areas where infrastructure is still developing, said Datuk Seri Fatimah Abdullah.

The Women, Childhood and Community Wellbeing Development Minister, speaking at the SK Kampung Klid/Plajau Student Excellence and Appreciation Ceremony on Tuesday (Jan 14), stressed that educational excellence does not necessarily depend on state-of-the-art facilities. Instead, determination and resourcefulness can pave the way for both student and school success.

Citing SK Kampung Klid/Plajau as an example, she commended the school’s proactive approach in organising cross-country activities despite ongoing road construction and challenging sandy conditions.

“This demonstrates how the school maximises its limited resources effectively, proving that obstacles can be overcome with creativity and effort,” she said.

Fatimah, who is the Dalat assemblywoman, encouraged students in the area to consider staying in dormitories to cultivate discipline and better time management.

“In dormitories, schedules for meals, study, and recreation are meticulously planned, helping students develop into disciplined and well-organised individuals,” she added.

She also stressed the importance of early childhood education, urging parents to enrol their children in preschool to lay the foundation for future quality human capital.

During the ceremony, she also distributed contributions to the students in conjunction with the upcoming Chinese New Year celebration, reflecting her commitment to supporting education and community wellbeing.
