DARO: At least 20 interesting activities have been drawn up for the “Pesta Terubok” to be held in conjunction with Daro District Day from 10 to 25 March.
Daro District Information Officer, Haji Khusairi Suhaibo said the celebration would begin with the Mobile Community Transformation Centre (MCTC) programme in Kampung Penasu from 10 to 12 March.
This will be followed by the Department of Labour roadshow at Kie Ming Kindergarten from 14 to 15 March.
From 18 to 19 March, the public will have the opportunity to witness a power boat race at the Daro Waterfront.
“We will also hold a thanksgiving ceremony at Masjid Tunku Abdul Rahman in the afternoon of 23 March. Meanwhile, Daro Kitchen will take place from 23 to 26 March, “ Khusairi revealed in a statement recently.
Meanwhile, music lovers will have the opportunity to showcase their talents in the Karaoke Competition of Best of Patrick Kamis Songs Collection and 60’s Songs, to be held on the main stage on 24 March.
The opening ceremony on 25 March will be officiated by Daro State Assemblyman, Safiee Ahmad.
The programme will be followed by “Running Man Terubok”, an autoshow, a Bermukun show, “Queen of PestaTerubok” and a cultural event.
“On 26 March, the organiser will also organise various events for visitors. Among them are aerobics, sports, Daro blowpipe competition, archery demonstrations, a poco-poco competition, Pamuk and a futsal competiton. The official closing ceremony will take place on the same day,”added Khusairi.
