PREMIER Datuk Patinggi Tan Sri Abang Johari Tun Openg has chosen not to comment further for now on the details of the agreement between the Sarawak and federal governments, which is expected to resolve issues involving Petroliam Nasional Bhd (PETRONAS) and Petroleum Sarawak Bhd (PETROS).
He said Prime Minister, Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim, is currently occupied with other commitments, and further developments will be announced at an appropriate time.
“He (Anwar) is still busy; it will be announced later,” he said briefly when approached by the media at the Sarawak State Legislative Assembly (DUN) complex today.
On May 13, Abang Johari had stated that the crucial agreement was expected to be signed within two days between him and the Prime Minister, marking another step forward in strengthening federal-state cooperation.
“Just wait. In two days, there will be an agreement document between me and the Prime Minister,” he said then.
