KUCHING: Petroleum Sarawak Berhad (PETROS) has issued a warning to the public over a fake employment letter allegedly linked to the company that is currently circulating on social media platforms.
In a statement, PETROS clarified that the document – which has been widely shared online – is not genuine and did not originate from the state oil and gas company.
The letter, purportedly involving the recruitment of foreign workers, has sparked public concern and debate after screenshots of the document and accompanying claims were posted on social media.
PETROS stressed that members of the public should exercise caution and avoid being misled by unverified or false information regarding its recruitment and career opportunities.
“All applications for career or internship opportunities at PETROS are carried out strictly through the company’s official online careers portal,” it said.
The company reiterated its commitment to developing local talent and building a skilled workforce to support Sarawak’s economic growth.
Members of the public who encounter suspicious job offers or documents are advised to disregard such claims and refer only to PETROS’ official platforms for accurate information.
