BALAI RINGIN: Pikabol Malaysia has launched its Pikabol Community Programme in conjunction with the official opening of the Balai Ringin Mini Stadium on June 29, officiated by Minister for Tourism, Creative Industry and Performing Arts, Datuk Seri Abdul Karim Rahman Hamzah.

Abdul Karim expressed strong support for initiatives that promote active lifestyles and foster community cohesion through sports, noting the potential of pickleball to engage Sarawakians of all ages.

The Pikabol Community Programme aims to make the sport accessible through grassroots outreach and community engagement, developed in collaboration with the Kuching Pickleball Association (KPA).

According to managing director Oscar Choo, Pikabol Malaysia donated two pickleball nets to Balai Ringin, aiming to spark a grassroots movement and expand the sport’s impact across Sarawak.

“Balai Ringin is one of the communities where we’ve donated two pickleball nets, officially received by (deputy minister and Balai Ringin assemblyman) Datuk Snowdan Lawan, and there’s more to come.

“Our goal is to spark a grassroots movement and create a lasting impact across Sarawak,” Choo said.

Meanwhile, KPA president Ruslan Bujang noted the programme’s alignment with the association’s mission.

“This programme aligns perfectly with KPA’s mission.

“We conducted a demo here and are excited to develop more players, especially juniors.”

Pikabol Malaysia, which is based in Kuching, operates 16 indoor pickleball courts equipped to host tournaments to international standards, proudly standing as the largest and most advanced pickleball arena in Sarawak.
