PADAWAN: A local man died on the spot following a fatal two-vehicle crash along Jalan Stephen Yong early this morning.
The accident, involving a car and a motorcycle, happened at the traffic light intersection around 2:00 am.
Padawan Police Chief, Supt Mohd Irwan Hafiz Md Radzi, confirmed the accident when contacted.
“The victim, a 34-year-old pillion rider, was pronounced dead at the scene.
“Meanwhile, his rider sustained injuries but survived the crash,” he said, without disclosing the severity of the rider’s injuries.
Irwan added that the driver has been detained for further actions.
The case is being investigated under Section 41(1) of the Road Transport Act 1987 for causing death by reckless or dangerous driving.
