KUCHING: Kuching City FC head coach Aidil Sharin Sahak has urged his players to approach their upcoming Malaysia Super League clash against Penang FC with greater confidence and desire to win.
The Cats will take on Penang FC at City Stadium, Penang, on Sunday (Feb 16) at 9 pm.
Currently sixth in the league standings, Kuching City FC will face tenth-placed Penang FC, a team they have encountered twice at the same venue.
“This is the third time we’re meeting Penang at Bandaraya Penang, and I hope the boys are more confident, but also more determined to win this game,” Aidil said during a recent press conference.
While Kuching City FC always aims for three points, Aidil pointed out the challenges of playing away from home.
“Every game, our target is always three points. But sometimes, we need to be realistic.
“Playing away is tough. One point is a good point, and three points are always a bonus,” he explained.
He added that his players maintain a strong focus on winning every match.
“We always tell ourselves that every game (our) focus is always to win.
“InsyaAllah (God willing), we will continue to improve ourselves,” he assured.
Looking ahead to their match against Penang FC, Aidil expressed confidence, recalling that his team had previously beaten them twice in previous matches.
“We know it won’t be easy, but we have beaten them twice there,” he said.
For the record, the Malaysian Football League announced on its website that the postponed matches have been rescheduled and updated.
The postponed Super League 15 match between Sri Pahang FC and Kuching City FC has been rescheduled.
Originally set for November 2, 2024, the match will now take place on March 4, 2025, at 10 pm.
Additionally, the postponed Super League 19 fixture between Kuching City FC and Kedah Darul Aman FC has a new date.
Initially scheduled for January 24, the match will now be played on March 12, with the kick-off time at 9.15 pm.
