KUCHING: As part of the International Women’s Day (IWD) celebration, Plaza Merdeka Shopping Centre here is inviting patrons to partake in an event called “Be(You)tiful” to celebrate gender balance from March 8 until March 17.

Themed “#BalancedforBetter”, the event is in collaboration with Larissa Ping, Miss World Malaysia, together with Ida Hanicomb and Rozie Khan Couture, to make women feel confident of themselves and comfortable in their own skin.

The 10-day event will feature various activities like fitness workout class, draping workshop, Orang Ulu workshop, modelling class, Little Miss Plaza (Kids Beauty Pageant) and exhibitions by Rozie Khan Couture, Ida Hanicomb and Larissa Ping’s charity work with Indigenous Outreach Programme (IDOP).

Among the highlights are the showcasing of Rozie Khan Couture’s evening dress worn by Miss Wold Malaysia during the competition and “Meet and Greet” session with Larissa Ping on March 16 at 6pm.

Plaza Merdeka marketing manager Debra Sim said that the Be(You)tiful event is meant as an avenue for everyone to celebrate and promote women to be beautiful and confident inside and out.

“We are proud to support women and beauty for everyone and we are confident that this collaboration with Larissa Ping will be a great success,” she said.
