MIRI: Pustaka Negeri Sarawak (PNS) Miri branch has successfully collected a total of 82 bags of blood from 93 registered donors during its first blood donation campaign of 2026.

The campaign was organised in collaboration with the Blood Bank of Miri Hospital and the Malaysian Red Crescent Society (Miri Branch), and was held at the lobby of PNS Miri on 4 April.

Corporate Management officer of PNS Miri, Shirley Szebah Mambai said that  the organisation was very grateful for the encouraging response from the public.

“This reflects the community’s awareness that donating blood is a noble act that could save lives and also fosters social responsibility among citizens,” she said.

“This initiative aligns with PNS Miri’s commitment to engaging with the community through impactful social programmes. In addition, it supports the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), particularly SDG 3: Good Health and Well-being,” she added.

As a token of appreciation, successful donors received light refreshments and 5kg of Ratu Huma fragrant rice.

The next blood donation campaign by PNS Miri will be held on 6 May 2026; 15 August 2026; and 5 December 2026.
