BAU: Police are tracking down suspects involved in the theft of a Toyota Hilux parked in front of SJKC Chung Hua Siniawan on Sunday night (Mar 1).

Bau police chief DSP Mohd Haide A. Rahman said the incident occurred at about 8.45pm after the complainant had left the vehicle while having dinner in Siniawan town with his son in conjunction with Chinese New Year.

“After finishing dinner, the complainant returned to the parking area and found his vehicle missing,” he said in a statement.

He said the vehicle, a black Toyota Hilux bearing registration number TAK8333, estimated to be worth about RM60,000, was parked in a well-lit area but there was no CCTV installed at the location.

The case is being investigated under Section 379A of the Penal Code.
