Serian police chief Supt Freddy Bian Stanislaus Bian said the suspects were arrested by the Narcotics Criminal Investigation Division with assistance from district police headquarters (IPD) personnel.
He said they were detained under Section 39A(1) of the Dangerous Drugs Act 1952, with 6.7 grammes of suspected syabu seized in the town area.
“Police also recorded nine arrests under Section 15(1)(a) of the Dangerous Drugs Act 1952 in the areas of Tarat and Balai Ringin.
“Three other suspects wanted in connection with arrest warrants for failing to attend drug-related court proceedings in Serian were also caught,” he said in a statement.
Freddy advised the public not to be involved in drug abuse activities, warning that stern action would be taken against offenders, especially repeat offenders.
