MIRI: Police detained a 31-year-old local man on Thursday (Jan 23) in connection with a house theft case in Kampung Lusut Jaya 3C here.
Miri district police chief ACP Mohd Farhan Lee Abdullah said the arrest was led by Miri Police Station chief ASP Goldy Jangan, assisted by a team from the Crime Prevention Division (CPJ) of the Central Miri Police Station.
“The arrest was carried out at around 7.20 pm in the vicinity of Miri town. During the operation, police also seized a toolbox believed to be stolen property linked to the case,” he said in a statement.
The suspect has been remanded at the Central Miri Police Station lock-up to assist investigations under Section 379 of the Penal Code for theft.
Police advised members of the public to stay vigilant and report any suspicious activities to the authorities to help curb crime in the district.
