BINTANGOR: Police have confirmed that a recent motorcycle fire along Jalan Dermaga on August 27 did not involve any criminal element, contrary to claims circulating on social media.

Meradong Police chief, DSP Tansli Mering, said investigations found the incident to be a normal fire with no link to sabotage.

“The owner of the motorcycle lodged a police report on September 3 to clarify the actual situation after the case drew public attention.

“We can confirm that no foul play was involved, and the blaze was fully extinguished by Bintangor firefighters,” he said in a statement.

Tansli assured that the situation around Bintangor Market remains safe and under control, dismissing public concerns.

“The public is advised not to speculate or make assumptions that could affect public order,” he said.

Police will continue to work closely with relevant agencies to ensure the safety and harmony of the community.
