KUCHING: Politeknik Metro Betong Sarawak (PMBS) and Politeknik Mukah Sarawak (PMU) have recently signed the Agreed Minutes of Meeting (AMM) with 11 international education institutions from Indonesia.
The 11 education institutions involved are Medan State Polytechnic, Jakarta State Polytechnic, Lampung State Polytechnic, Semarang State Polytechnic, Pontianak State Polytechnic, Padang State Polytechnic, Lhokseumawe State Polytechnic, Madiun State Polytechnic, Ambon State Polytechnic, Bandung Manufacturing Polytechnic, and Subang State Polytechnic.
SEDC general manager Datuk Abdul Hadi Abdul Kadir praised the initiative, highlighting the significant role these institutions play in developing human capital for the country.
“I believe this collaboration is crucial in bridging the gap between the needs and expectations of the industry and students’ readiness to enter the workforce with relevant knowledge, skills, and abilities required in their respective fields of work in the future.”
The three-year bilateral agreement aims to leverage the strengths of each institution, creating a collaborative platform for the exchange of expertise and knowledge among esteemed academicians involved.
Through this partnership, a wide array of activities will be undertaken, including research and innovation programmes, student exchanges, webinars, conferences, and more.
The signing ceremony took place at Merdeka Palace Hotel and was attended by the Consul-General of the Republic of Indonesia, Raden Sigit Witjaksono; PMBS director Suhaili Aleh; PMU director Hisamudin Mohd Tamim; and Indonesian Polytechnic delegation representative Jusron Ali Rahajaan.
