KUCHING: Sarawak now has 156 National Information Dissemination Centres (NADI) operating throughout the state, said Deputy Communications Minister Teo Nie Ching.
With the establishment of two new NADI centres in Pending and Padungan, she said it is part of the 23 new centres under the “1 Constituency, 1 NADI” initiative.
“Both NADI centres (Pending and Padungan) started operating last October.
“We can see that even though they have only been operating for about six months, both centres have already managed to attract around 1,300 and 1,600 members respectively.
“This clearly shows that both locations are very strategic and have received very positive responses from the local communities because NADI offers a wide range of services,” she said at a press conference after launching the NADI Padungan today.
She added that NADI centres not only provide internet and computer access but also offer various digital skills training programmes, entrepreneurship workshops, and other beneficial community activities.
“Students can come here; we offer online tuition for subjects like English, Mathematics, and more… we have personal tutors who are always ready to provide lessons for them.
“And not only that, we also have E-sports for the younger generation… Therefore, I hope the local community can make full use of the facilities provided by NADI,” she said.
