KUCHING: Some 100 people received sacrificial meat during the Premier Department’s ‘Ibadah Korban’ ceremony today (June 18).
The recipients included representatives from various Sarawak government agencies and the needy group in the state.
Premier Datuk Patinggi Tan Sri Abang Johari Tun Openg was present to distribute the sacrificial meat to the recipients at Wisma Sabati here.
During the ceremony, Ustaz Kamarulzaman Kawi from the Sarawak Islamic Religious Department (JAIS) represented ten needy recipients to receive the sacrificial meat and monetary donations.
Meanwhile, professional boxer Daelonial McDelon @ Mohd Asyraf Abdullah, popularly known as Kilat Boy, represented the staff of the Premier’s Department to receive the sacrificial meat.
Among those present were the Premier’s wife Puan Sri Datuk Amar Juma’ani Tuanku Bujang, Deputy Premier Datuk Amar Dr Sim Kui Hian, Sarawak Legislative Assembly Speaker Tan Sri Datuk Amar Mohamad Asfia Awang Nasar, Deputy Minister in the Premier’s Department (Law, MA63, and State-Federal Relations) Datuk Sharifah Hasidah Sayeed Aman Ghazali, Deputy State Secretary (Administration) Datuk Buckland Bangik, and Sarawak Attorney-General Datuk Saferi Ali.
