The convoy was flagged off by Deputy Premier Datuk Seri Dr Sim Kui Hian.

Also joining in the trip was Minister of Tourism, Creative Industry, and Performing Arts Datuk Seri Abdul Karim Rahman Hamzah, who is also the minister responsible for the event.

Among those present during the flagging-off ceremony were Minister of Transport Datuk Seri Lee Kim Shin, State Secretary Datuk Amar Mohamad Abu Bakar Marzuki, and federal Deputy Minister of Health and Sibuti Member of Parliament (MP) Lukanisman Awang Sauni.

Abang Johari arrives at the Miri Indoor Stadium for the flag-off ceremony.

The convoy will make several stops where Abang Johari and his entourage will have the opportunity to meet and interact with the local community, fostering the spirit of unity and patriotism as Sarawak celebrates its 60 years of independence within Malaysia this year.

The first stop will be at Pantai Bungai, Subis, before proceeding to Kampung Nyalau in Bintulu.

Upon reaching Bintulu, an additional 60 vehicles, including those from the biker community, four-wheel-drive groups, government agencies, and the private sector, will join the convoy from Kampung Nyalau to continue the journey to the next stop at Bintulu’s Naim Street Mall.

Abang Johari will officiate the Bintulu division’s digital exhibition and witness the handover of the Sarawak flag and the Sarawak 60 Years Independence flag from Miri Resident Jamalie Busri to Bintulu Resident Nyurak Keti.

The premier is also scheduled to officiate a community dinner at the Parkcity Everly Hotel in the evening.
