Premier presents donations to underprivileged residents in Gedong

GEDONG: Donations amounting to RM66,000 were distributed to 330 asnaf in Gedong district during an iftar ceremony held at Al-Kawthar Mosque here.

The contributions were presented on Wednesday (Mar 26) by Premier Datuk Patinggi Tan Sri Abang Johari Tun Openg.

Of the total amount, RM5,000 came from Agro Bank, RM20,000 from the Land Custody and Development Authority (LCDA), and the remainder from the Premier’s Office.

In addition to the asnaf recipients, nine mosques and 16 suraus in Gedong district also received donations from Agro Bank, LCDA and the Premier’s Office.

The event, attended by around 1,000 people, also featured a Ramadan tazkirah by a representative from the Samarahan Division Islamic Religious Office, followed by congregational Maghrib, Isha, and Tarawih prayers.
