BAU: The Siniawan Waterfront, which has been under development for nearly five years, is now in its final phase of completion.
Premier Datuk Patinggi Tan Sri Abang Johari Tun Openg will be officiating at the opening ceremony of the waterfront on September 27.
According to Serembu Assemblyman, Miro Simuh, the RM9-million project is undergoing its finishing touches and expected to be fully ready by end of August.
“This is a big occasion for Siniawan. We are not only unveiling a new waterfront that enhances the town’s appeal, but also laying the foundation for Siniawan to become a catalyst for tourism in this region,” he said in a press conference on the Siniawan County Music Festival (SCMF) 2025, here on Saturday.
Miro, who is also the adviser of the SCMF 2025 committee, said a major upgrade for the heritage town is a key part of a broader urban revitalisation initiative aimed at preserving the town’s historical charm, while improving modern infrastructure.
Highlights of the project include new pedestrian walkways for visitors and trade conveniences, a uniformed and visually cohesive streetscape, a RM20-million multi-level parking facility capable of accommodating 400 vehicles and the upcoming Siniawan Marina, designed to host open-air events and concerts for up to 5,000 people.
“This development will make Siniawan more vibrant, accessible, and comfortable for tourists and locals alike.
“We are investing in the future of this town without losing the authenticity that makes Siniawan unique,” he said.
