BAU: Premier Datuk Patinggi Tan Sri Abang Johari Tun Openg is scheduled to officiate the launch of Tasik Biru Resort City on May 15, held in conjunction with the 205th anniversary of Bau District.

The launch marks the start of Pesta Tasik Biru 2025, an 11-day event from May 15 to 25.

The event will feature the district’s iconic Jong Regatta and a line-up of community-driven activities at the lakeside venue.

Transport Deputy Minister, Datuk Henry Harry Jinep, said the event would feature night-time festivities, including the lighting of the Tasik Biru Bridge and a fireworks display.

He said Gawai Bazaar will also open daily from 9:00 am to 11:00 pm, offering traditional crafts, local delicacies and community goods from Bau and surrounding areas.

“Among other highlights are cultural shows, busking, stage performances, and a range of competitions under Karnival Sukan Bau,” he said after chairing the organising committee meeting at the Bau District Office today.
