KUALA LUMPUR: Preparations for the Lan Berambeh Anak Sarawak (LBAS) 2025 programme are well underway, with meticulous planning to ensure a smooth and impactful event at the Malaysia International Trade and Exhibition Centre (MITEC), Kuala Lumpur.

Deputy Economy Minister Datuk Hanifah Hajar Taib, attended a special briefing and food testing session on Monday to review the latest updates on the event’s organisation.

The session, organised by Sarawak Volunteers, began with a comprehensive briefing covering various aspects of the upcoming programme, including content planning, exhibitor participation, and logistical arrangements.

A food testing session was also held to finalise the official menu for the ‘Majlis Makan Malam Anak Sarawak’ (Anak Sarawak Dinner), which is expected to be one of the programme’s main highlights on Oct 25.

The dinner will be graced by Head of State Tun Pehin Sri Dr Wan Junaidi Tuanku Jaafar and his wife Toh Puan Datuk Patinggi Fauziah Mohd Sanusi, alongside Premier Datuk Patinggi Tan Sri Abang Johari Tun Openg and state as well as federal leaders under Gabungan Parti Sarawak (GPS).

The dinner will bring together a diverse guest list, including students from higher learning institutions, representatives from NGOs and corporate sectors, state and federal protocol officers, exhibitors, strategic partners, media practitioners, members of the organising committee, and volunteers.

A special quota will also be allocated for guests from various parliamentary constituencies.

Hanifah urged the Sarawakian community, particularly those studying and working in the Klang Valley, to take part in the event and help enliven LBAS 2025.

“Lan Berambeh Anak Sarawak has always been more than just a gathering, it is a platform that connects Sarawakians from all walks of life, celebrates our shared heritage, and showcases the progress of our state,” she said on her Facebook post.

This year’s edition promises a vibrant line-up of activities, including exhibition booths by state and federal government agencies, interactive sessions with young leaders, an entrepreneur product sales expo, and various cultural, educational, and entrepreneurship-focused side programmes.
