DEBAK: The sport game of gasing pangkah (spinning top) is one of the traditional sports that needs to be maintained so that it is not forgotten by the next generation.

According to Deputy Minister of Women, Early Childhood and Community Wellbeing Development Mohammad Razi Sitam, this traditional sport was an attraction for the visitors and needed to be preserved because it was a national traditional sport that originated from this country itself.

“This sport is not only practiced by people in their 40s, but it is very suitable for youth too so that this sport will be inherited from generation to generation,” he said.

He said this when speaking at the launching of Sukan Tradisi Pangkah Gasing Debak at the Gelanggang Gasing Debak, recently.

In the meantime, Razi congratulated all the winners and also gave appreciation to all the participants for their willingness to participate in the competition.

The competition was organised by the TraSaribas Gasing Club with a total of 35 groups participating.
