KUCHING: Press Metal Bintulu Sdn Bhd’s RM1 million boost has given Kuching City FC fresh firepower for the Malaysian Super League, with the club expressing heartfelt gratitude for the long-standing partnership.

Kuching City FC chairman Datuk Fazzrudin Abdul Rahman described the occasion as a proud moment in the club’s 10-year journey from humble beginnings to top-flight football.

“It was not an easy task — we faced many challenges. From a humble beginning, as is often the case when you first start, it was very difficult to seek assistance or form strategic collaborations.

“When we approached them, they were eager. They saw the opportunity, the quality, and the potential of Kuching City FC as part of their grand vision to help build capacity in Sarawak,” he said.

He was speaking after witnessing the signing of a sponsorship memorandum between Kuching City FC and Press Metal at Pullman Hotel today.

Fazzrudin noted that Press Metal has been a steady supporter of the club for several years, contributing not only to football development but also to community programmes across Sarawak.

“Alhamdulillah, we have started this season well, and Inshallah, we will work hard until the end to live up to our tagline — to be the pride of Sarawak,” he added.

Also present at the event were club chief executive officer (CEO) Iswandi Ali Hassan and Press Metal Bintulu Sdn Bhd deputy chief executive officer (DCEO) Ooi Beng Guan.
