KUCHING: The Project of Dreams Realised (PRO-DR) Roadshow will serve as a key platform for young Sarawakians to chart their career and education pathways, especially those from rural and suburban areas.

Deputy Minister of Transport Datuk Dr Jerip Susil said the initiative aims to give students clearer insight into their ambitions and potential career choices.

“Sometimes, after finishing school, young people don’t actively seek out what they really want in life.

“But when they are exposed to available opportunities through events like this, they may discover their interests and chart a direction forward,” he said at a press conference for the Siburan leg of the PRO-DR 2025 Roadshow, held today at the Siburan District Office.

Dr Jerip, who also serves as the deputy chairman of Tabung Ekonomi Gagasan Anak Sarawak (TEGAS), emphasised that the roadshow acts as a platform to provide guidance and exposure on higher education, technical training, and career opportunities to students from underserved areas.

For the Siburan stop, he said about 33 institutions and agencies will be present to offer information on higher education and skills training, with several companies also participating to provide job opportunities.

He urged residents from across Serian Division, particularly those in Padawan District, to attend the programme and take full advantage of the resources provided.

“Use this chance to gather information about education and ask questions directly to the institution representatives, especially if you’re uncertain about the next steps for your children’s future in education and career,” he said.

Dr Jerip also expressed hope to see more rural youths emerge as future leaders in technology, innovation, and entrepreneurship.

“This is one of the best investments we can make for Sarawak’s future. For those currently seeking employment, this is a great opportunity to secure a job as PRO-DR could be the launchpad of your career.

“Don’t forget to bring along your resume and relevant certificates, as there will be walk-in interviews and to dress smartly,” he added.

The PRO-DR Roadshow in Siburan will be held at the Siburan Community Hall on Aug 20.
