KUCHING: Fourteen locations across Sarawak will be part of the upcoming Project of Dreams Realised (Pro-DR) Roadshow which will run from July 23 to Aug 22.

Tabung Ekonomi Gagasan Anak Sarawak (TEGAS) chairman, Datuk Len Talif Salleh said the locations involved are Lawas, Limbang, Long Lama, Sebauh, Mukah, Daro, Tanjung Manis, Kapit, Bintangor, Saratok, Balai Ringin, Sebuyau, Padawan, and Lundu.

He said organising the programme is vital as a platform for delivering up-to-date information on education, careers, training, and financial aid to students, especially in rural areas.

“After a decade of its implementation, the programme has received overwhelming support from communities in each location, proving the effectiveness of a grassroots approach and direct communication with target groups.

“This shows the importance of TEGAS’ continuous efforts to ensure no one is left behind in terms of access to information and opportunities to build a brighter future.

“Therefore, collaboration between the government, private sector, and educational institutions is essential to address issues related to education and employment, as well as to strengthen the competitiveness of the local labour market,” he said.

He said this at the opening of the Sarawak Career and Training Exhibition (SCaT Fair) 2025 held at the Borneo Convention Centre Kuching (BCCK), here today.

Len, who is also Deputy Minister for Urban Planning, Land Administration and Environment, said a total of 1,561 job vacancies are being offered at the event, covering the construction, manufacturing, and various other sectors.

“This is a golden opportunity to shape a more meaningful future. Therefore, I urge everyone present and out there, especially the youth, to seize this opportunity.

“Whether you’re currently looking for a job or planning to start a new career, this is the best time to make a decision. Don’t miss the chance to improve your quality of life, acquire new skills, and grow your potential across various sectors,” he added.

Meanwhile, he also announced that TEGAS will collaborate with the ASEAN Foundation and Maybank Foundation to organise the Youth EdXchange Programme, which focuses on environmental education, involving 14 schools across Asia.

According to him, the programme will see participation from 2,323 students, 131 teachers, and 167 regional youths, and is scheduled to be held from Aug 2 to 3 at the TEGAS Digital Village.

“This initiative targets participation from youth groups, environmental clubs, young artists, youth leaders, industry representatives, government agencies, NGOs, and policymakers, in an effort to promote a sustainable lifestyle proactively and creatively,” he said.
