SIBU: Sibu Vocational College (KVS) is called to produce quality human resources to develop the country’s competitiveness at the global level.
Political Secretary to the Premier Sayed Azmee Wan Junaidi said the country needs human resources that can compete in the knowledge-based world economic scenario.
“We need an educated generation known as ‘knowledge workers’ — educated people who not only master knowledge and are highly skilled but also have and practise positive attitudes and values to advance themselves and prosper the country.
“Indeed, a country that wants to progress needs quality, charismatic, authoritative, and skilled young people,” he said in his speech at the annual general meeting (AGM) of the parents and teachers association for 2023–2024 here today (April 15).
Sayed Azmee, who is representing the Deputy Minister of Education, Innovation, and Talent Development Datuk Dr Annuar Rapaee, also called on the teachers and lecturers to equip themselves with all relevant knowledge to ensure the aspirations are achievable.
“I would like to call on all the teachers and lecturers to continue to strengthen their determination and solidify their commitment to complete the trust that has been given honestly and sincerely,” he said, stressing that all parents should also give support and cooperation with all the efforts carried out by the college.
He added that he was confident that the understanding that exists because of the strong collaboration (between the college and parents) will produce a culture of consensus that will certainly produce a generation of competent and successful students.
During the AGM, which was attended by more than 200 parents, the elections for the PTA committees for the term 2023–2025 were carried out.
