SIBU: The Health and Wellness Public Forum, hosted by the National Association of Malaysian Life Insurance and Family Takaful Advisors (Namlifa) Sibu branch at a hotel here recently, attracted about 50 participants.

The event, held in conjunction with Namlifa Sibu branch’s 29th annual general meeting, also encompassed free basic health screenings, including blood glucose checks, bone density testing, and blood pressure measurements.

Namlifa Sibu branch chairman Rali Wong said that two medical specialists from Subang Jaya Medical Centre (SJMC), namely consultant cardiologist Dr Thurston Erng and consultant dermatologist Dr Ch’ng Chin Chwen, were the speakers at the forum.

Dr Erng spoke on the topic ‘Demystifying Sudden Cardiac Arrest’, while Dr Ch’ng presented on ‘Shingles Management’.

Wong said the event, among other aims, was intended to engage the public by having medical experts help participants better understand overall wellbeing and take charge of their health with knowledge and confidence.
