MIRI: The spirit of Ramadan was marked here on Thursday (March 12) as property developer, Imasa Dinasti Sdn Bhd, distributed hundreds of packs of traditional bubur lambuk to police officers and government agencies, in a gesture aimed at recognising the work of frontline public servants.

The distribution formed part of the company’s Cahaya Ramadan community outreach programme, an initiative designed to strengthen engagement between the private sector and public institutions while sharing the goodwill associated with the Muslim holy month.

At a brief handover ceremony at the Miri District Police Headquarters, Miri Police chief, ACP Mohd Farhan Lee Abdullah, received the bubur lambuk on behalf of officers from the Special Branch and the Traffic Investigation and Enforcement Department.

The packs of the traditional savoury porridge, commonly prepared and shared during Ramadan, were presented by Imasa Dinasti’s Project Manager, Aryton Kong, who was accompanied by members of the company’s public relations and marketing team.

The initiative reflects a broader effort by the company to acknowledge the role of enforcement and government agencies whose work contributes to maintaining public order and community wellbeing.

In total, 846 packs of bubur lambuk are being distributed under the programme to a range of public sector institutions and media organisations across the city.

Among the agencies included in the distribution are the Miri City Council, the Miri Resident and District Office, the Land and Survey Department Miri, the Department of Environment, the Natural Resources and Environment Board Sarawak, the Fire and Rescue Department Malaysia (Miri), and personnel stationed at Miri Airport.

At the Land and Survey Department Miri, the bubur lambuk was received by department head, Superintendent Anthony Aboi.

Several media organisations were also among the recipients, including The Borneo Post, Utusan Borneo, See Hua Daily News, Radio Televisyen Malaysia (RTM), the Sarawak Public Communications Unit (UKAS), TV Sarawak (TVS), Jabatan Penerangan Malaysia, United Daily News, Utusan Sarawak and Sin Chew Daily News.
