PANTU: A proposal to establish the Pantu District Council was deliberated during a special session held at the Pantu District Office meeting room on Wednesday (Apr 8).

The session brought together administrative officials and key stakeholders to assess the necessity and suitability of setting up a district council in the area.

Among the matters discussed were a briefing on the background of Pantu district, as well as detailed deliberations on the procedures, requirements and guidelines involved in establishing a district council.

Participants also exchanged views and feedback on administrative aspects and additional support needed to ensure the smooth implementation of the proposal.

The establishment of the Pantu District Council is viewed as a strategic move to strengthen the local administrative framework while enhancing the efficiency of public service delivery to the community.

It is also expected to accelerate infrastructure development, improve the management of public facilities and enable more structured and sustainable planning within the district.

During the discussion, emphasis was placed on the importance of strong inter-agency coordination, sufficient human and financial resources, and active community engagement to ensure the success of the initiative.

The session marked an initial step towards the proposed establishment of the Pantu District Council, in line with broader efforts to advance rural development in the Sri Aman Division.
