RESIDENTS in the constituency of Telang Usan have benefitted greatly from the past year’s budget said its assemblyman Dennis Ngau.

Dennis chided the opposition who labelled the State 2020 Budget which was tabled by Chief Minister Datuk Patinggi Abang Johari Tun Openg last Monday as a ‘magic budget’.

“Well if it is a magic budget and claimed to be non-existent, I can hereby vouch that my constituency of Telang Usan is living proof that 2019 state budget has brought much benefit to my people. He said this when debating on the Supply (2020) Bill, 2019 in the august House here yesterday.

“Those on the opposition bench, instead of joining the majority of Sarawakians who are happy with the state budget, belted accusations including telling Sarawakians that the 2019 State Budget was a David Copperfield budget.”

He said that millions have been spent to implement projects using the funds allocated in the budget, a trend that is continued in the 2020 State Budget.

“Therefore, I would also like to put on record my thanks and appreciation to the Gabungan Party Sarawak government for implementing various rakyat-centric projects in my constituency via the rural transformation programme (RTP).

“This shows that Sarawakians are more than capable of managing the state. I urge all the people to acknowledge the effort by Chief Minister Datuk Patinggi Abang Johari Tun Openg and his cabinet members.”
