KUCHING: Parti Rakyat Sarawak (PRS) has come a long way since its founding in 2004, marking 21 years of growth.

In stating this, the party’s former Youth’s chief, Datuk Snowdan Lawan, said the party was built on perseverance, unity and the strong foundation laid by its founding president, the late Tan Sri Datuk Amar Dr James Jemut Masing.

“Twenty-one years ago, we began with a simple yet powerful vision – Rakyat Bersatu.

“With limited resources but immense zeal and unwavering hope, our founders built a truly inclusive party – Parti Kitai, Parti Rakyat,” he said during the 21st anniversary dinner held in conjunction with the conclusion of the party’s Sixth Triennial Delegates Conference (TDC) at a hotel here on Sunday night.

Snowdan, who is also Balai Ringin assemblyman, further said that despite the challenges along the way, PRS has continued to grow stronger, now represented by 11 assemblymen and five Members of Parliament.

“Our journey has been filled with trials and triumphs. We have navigated turbulent waters and celebrated incredible victories. It was not always easy, but our story is one of perseverance.

“The path that we walked and the milestone achieved would not have been possible without the tireless dedication from past and present party members,” he said.

He also expressed optimism for the party’s future, calling on members to remain united and forward-looking as PRS continues its path of innovation and growth.

“As we move forward, let us remember the values that have guided us for the past 21 years. I am confident that with your talent and unity, we will not only overcome the new challenges that await us, but also set new benchmarks for success.

“Let us pledge to continue pushing boundaries, embracing new possibilities, and shaping a future that is even brighter,” he said.
