KUCHING: PRS Pewaris, the youth wing of Parti Rakyat Sarawak (PRS) with members from the age of 18 to 28, is set to launch a new initiative aimed at engaging the youth of Sarawak.
This announcement was made by Baleh assemblyman cum Pewaris chairman, Nicholas Kudi, who spoke to reporters after the PRS Supreme Council meeting today.
The programme, called Ruai Pewaris, will debut in Bintulu in June after the Gawai festival, and expand to nearby areas such as Tatau, Samalaju and Belaga with the goal to increase Pewaris’ presence in these regions.
Nicholas explained that a minimum of 50 participants is needed to establish a local division of Pewaris, which currently operates in five divisions, namely Batu Danau, Bukit Kota, Pelagus, Murum and Baleh.
The group’s main committee consists of 22 members.
Focused on empowering Sarawak’s youth, PRS Pewaris provides opportunities for young people to connect, contribute to their communities, and develop as future leaders.
Nicholas expressed confidence that this new programme will enhance Pewaris’ role within PRS and encourage youth involvement in shaping their communities’ future.
Vionie Zenith Grep, PRS Pewaris Deputy Chairperson, also shared insights into the group’s ongoing efforts.

“Being part of Pewaris means having the chance to contribute to the community and have your voice heard as a youth,” she said.
“It’s about empowering young people and offering them opportunities to learn and grow.”
The latest Pewaris meeting welcomed 50 new members from Batu Danau, Murum and Ngemah, and received an additional 100 member applications, reflecting strong interest in the group’s activities.
Looking ahead, Pewaris remains committed to expanding its outreach across Sarawak, ensuring that young people have meaningful opportunities to engage in community development.
“We are focused on broadening our reach, and as more youth join, we will continue to provide avenues for them to make a difference,” Vionie said.
