KUALA LUMPUR: The 2025 National Education Savings Scheme (SSPN) Savings Month (BMS) programme, organised by the National Higher Education Fund (PTPTN), successfully recorded RM251.44 million in deposits, exceeding its initial target of RM220 million, for the period Sept 26 to Nov 2.

In a statement today, PTPTN chairman, Datuk Seri Norliza Abdul Rahim, said the success demonstrates the effectiveness of the fund’s planned strategies and the strong support from the community.

“This also reflects the increasing level of awareness among parents about the need for early financial planning to secure their children’s educational future, in line with the aspiration of producing quality and competitive human capital,” she said.

She also expressed her appreciation to the public for their commitment to cultivating a savings culture and urged more government agencies, state governments and corporate bodies to choose SSPN as their primary savings instrument.

The eighth edition of BMS was held in conjunction with World Savings Day, which is celebrated every Oct 31. The programme engaged parents and children through various activities and competitions.

The SSPN scheme offers various benefits, such as tax relief of up to RM8,000, free takaful coverage, a matching grant of up to RM10,000, competitive dividends, Syariah compliance and a government guarantee on savings.– BERNAMA
