BINTULU: In conjunction with the Easter celebration, the World Mission Society Church of God Bintulu will be organising the 1,619th Worldwide Blood Donation Campaign, themed ‘Giving Life Through the Love of Easter’.
The charitable initiative is set to take place on April 27 (Sunday) from 10.00 am to 12.00 noon at The Spring Mall here, and is open to all members of the public.
The campaign aims to attract between 70 and 100 blood donors, including members of the Progressive Democratic Party (PDP) and local residents from around here.
Organising committee spokesperson, Hellen Anbi, said the campaign’s main goal is to promote a spirit of giving and compassion, while helping to ensure that local hospitals – especially Bintulu Hospital – maintain adequate blood supply.
With the slogan ‘Delivering Love Through the New Covenant Passover’, the campaign reflects the values of love and sacrifice associated with Easter.
The initiative is supported by various parties including Bintulu Hospital, Liansin, PDP Samalaju N70, and The Spring Bintulu management, who have provided the venue for the campaign.
Members of the public who wish to donate blood are encouraged to come forward and take part in this meaningful life-saving act.
The organisers hope that, beyond meeting medical needs, the campaign will inspire greater compassion and strengthen community spirit.
