KUCHING: Members of the public are encouraged to participate in blood donation campaigns being held throughout this week to help ensure an adequate blood supply for patients in need.
The Blood Bank of Sarawak General Hospital (SGH) said blood donation campaigns will be conducted from June 1 to 7 at various locations around Kuching.
The SGH Blood Bank Centre operates from 8 am to 4.30 pm from Monday to Friday, while weekend donations can be made through scheduled mobile blood donation campaigns.
At the same time, the blood bank expressed its appreciation to donors who came forward to donate blood over the past week, either at mobile donation drives or at the SGH Blood Bank Centre.
“We would also like to thank organisers and sponsors who have continued to support blood donation campaigns, as well as members of the public who help raise awareness by sharing information on social media,” it said in a post on its official Facebook page.
The blood bank said eligible donors who have completed the required donation interval are encouraged to come forward and donate blood to help maintain sufficient blood reserves for patients requiring treatment.
“The registration for blood donation campaigns may close earlier once the targeted number of donors has been reached. As such, those wishing to donate blood are encouraged to check the latest campaign schedule and continue supporting efforts to ensure a safe and adequate blood supply for the healthcare system,” it added.
