KUCHING: The Sarawak State Library (Pustaka) continues its mission to preserve and strengthen the state’s historical archives through its ongoing Sarawak Oral History Programme.

The programme aims to document the stories and experiences of prominent figures for the benefit of future generations.

As part of this effort, a delegation from Pustaka paid a courtesy visit to the Head of State, Tun Pehin Sri Dr Wan Junaidi Tuanku Jaafar, and his wife, Toh Puan Datuk Patinggi Fauziah Mohd Sanusi, at their official residence in Petra Jaya today for an Oral History Interview Session.

The delegation was led by Chief Executive Officer Japri Bujang Masli, who also conducted the interview.

The session focused on documenting Wan Junaidi’s extensive contributions to Sarawak and Malaysia, particularly in the fields of law, politics, and public administration.

With more than five decades of experience in public service, he shared insights into his involvement in policy formulation, legislation, and his efforts to improve the socio-economic wellbeing of Sarawakians.

Expressing his appreciation to Pustaka for the initiative, Wan Junaidi described it as a vital step in preserving the state’s history and ensuring that future generations understand the legacy of Sarawak’s development.

He also expressed gratitude for the opportunity to share his experiences and hoped that his journey would serve as an inspiration for the younger generation to continue building a progressive, prosperous, and harmonious Sarawak.
