MIRI: Pustaka Negeri Sarawak is inviting school students and students from Public and Private Higher Learning Institutions (IPTA and IPTS) across Sarawak to participate in the 2025 Short Video Competition.
The competition is aimed at cultivating environmental consciousness among the younger generation.
Themed ‘Environmental Sustainability’, it is held in conjunction with the upcoming Sarawak Lestari Seminar 2025 here to raise awareness on the importance of environmental protection while encouraging youth to creatively express impactful messages through storytelling.
According to the organiser, the initiative supports the Sarawak government’s vision of sustainable development and also serves as a platform to address global environmental challenges such as climate change and pollution through education and community engagement.
Participants are required to produce short videos that highlight key environmental issues such as pollution, recycling, forest conservation, biodiversity and climate change, while delivering strong educational messages and inspiring calls to action.
Running from Jun 4 to 30, the competition offers cash prizes for the top three winners, with the champion receiving RM1,000, the first runner-up RM800 and the second runner-up RM600.
