MIRI: The Miri State Library (Pustaka) took the initiative to assist victims of the Kampung (Kpg) Wireless here on Mar 10.
The library collected used clothing from its staff and sent the collection to the donation centre at the International College of Advanced Technology Sarawak (i-CATS) Miri Campus, Lutong, on Mar 13.
“It is hoped that this contribution can alleviate the burden of the fire victims,”.
“This is one of the corporate social responsibility (CSR) initiatives that we emphasise, in addition to the services that the library offers as a centre of knowledge,” said corporate management officer Shirley Szebah Mambai.
The fire destroyed nine homes and left 80 people homeless. They are now temporarily housed at the Kpg Lereng Bukit community hall.
