MIRI: Pustaka Miri Sarawak is inviting Malaysians residing in Sarawak to participate in the 2023 Essay Writing Competition in conjunction with the Media and Information Literacy Week 2023.
The competition is divided into three categories: Category 1 – Lower Secondary School (Ages 13-15), Category 2 – Upper Secondary School (Ages 16-19), and Open Category (Ages 20 and above).
Participation is limited to 15 entries for each category. The submission deadline is Oct 31.
The theme ‘Media and Information Literacy in the Digital World’ has been chosen for this competition, which is to unearth talents in the field of essay writing while providing an understanding of the Information Literacy field.
Category 1 champion will receive RM300, runner-up will receive RM200, third place will receive RM100. There will also be 10 consolation prizes of RM50 each.
For Category 2, the champion gets RM400, followed by RM300 and RM200 for the runner-up and third place, respectively. There will also be 10 consolation prizes of RM50 each.
In Category 3, the champion takes home RM600 while the runner-up and third place get RM400 and RM200, respectively. Like the other two categories, there will also be 10 consolation prizes of RM50 each. All will receive a participation certificate as well.
