SIBU: Pustaka Negeri Sarawak (Pustaka) Sibu will organise the Sarawakku Reading Carnival at Rumah Juki Lambul, Mile 15, Selangau-Mukah, on November 1 (Saturday) starting from 8:00 am to 5:00 pm.
The programme will be graced by Minister in the Premier’s Department, Datuk Seri John Sikie Tayai, who is also Kakus assemblyman, at 10:30 am in the ‘Reading with Leaders’ session.
A press release from Pustaka Sibu on Wednesday stated that the event is one of the initiatives that aim to instill an interest in reading and foster a culture of knowledge among the community.
“This effort is hoped to produce a more knowledgeable, informed and informed community. To realise this programme, various interesting activities related to encouraging reading are also provided such as workshops, storytelling sessions, practical activities, sharing talks, exhibitions and others,” it said.
“This programme is implemented in the form of a carnival to create a fun and educational atmosphere, thus encouraging the community to continue reading and gaining knowledge.”
Also participating in the event is the Ladang 3 Health Clinic, which will be holding free health screenings and service exhibitions from various government agencies and non-governmental organisations (NGOs).
Among them are Sarawak Forestry Corporation (SFC), National Anti-Drug Agency, TEGAS, SOCSO, Malaysian Palm Oil Board, Sarawak Public Service Digitalisation Unit, and many more.
