KUCHING: The Public Works Department (PWD) Sarawak has been named a finalist in the Bentley Systems 2025 Going Digital Awards, emerging as the only Malaysian organisation to make the list this year.
The recognition places PWD Sarawak among top global contenders for its efforts in digital innovation and infrastructure engineering.
The list of finalists, selected from nearly 250 nominations across 47 countries, was announced on Tuesday (August 5) via Bentley Systems’ official website.
PWD Sarawak’s ‘Sarawak-Sabah Link Road Phase 2’ project is shortlisted in the Roads and Highways category.
The ongoing project has gained attention for its use of advanced digital technologies such as AI and digital twins, as well as for its collaborative approach involving local contractors and consultants.
PWD Sarawak Director, Dr Cassidy Morris, said the nomination was a proud moment for the agency and a reflection of its commitment to digital transformation.
“We are immensely honoured and proud to be nominated for the Bentley Systems 2025 Going Digital Awards, especially as the sole representative from Malaysia.
“This nomination is a testament to the hard work, dedication, and innovative spirit of our teams at PWD Sarawak. It validates our strategic focus on digital transformation to deliver world-class infrastructure projects that benefit the people of Sarawak and Malaysia,” he said.
Winners will be announced at Bentley’s Year in Infrastructure Conference in Amsterdam on October 16, where finalists will present their projects to an international audience.
The recognition is seen as a milestone achievement for PWD Sarawak and reinforces its position as a leader in digital innovation within the infrastructure sector.
