KUCHING: The KRFC Rainforest Sevens 2025 delivered a thrilling weekend of grassroots rugby action, with Iskandar Troopers and SMK Asajaya emerging as champions in the Men’s Open and Under-16 categories respectively.
The tournament was held at Song Kheng Hai Rugby Field from June 21 to June 22.
In the Men’s Open final, Iskandar Troopers powered their way to a 19–10 victory over a gritty WORC Z side to clinch the coveted Cup title.

Meanwhile, the Plate final featured a closely fought battle, with Wolfpack edging out UNIMAS 10–7 in a nail-biting finish.
Gatoz stamped their authority in the Bowl final, outclassing SSC South 31–0 with an explosive attacking display.
For third place, hosts KRFC Blackcatz impressed with a dominant 31–5 victory over KDRA U20 to round off the Open category podium.
The Under-16 division saw SMK Asajaya light up the tournament with a scintillating performance in the final, cruising to a resounding 48–0 win over SMK Tebedu to take home the Cup crown.
Their team display and teamwork were unmatched throughout the match.
In the Plate final, SAINSKU proved too strong for Sakura with a clinical 17–0 shutout, while Kolej Abdillah displayed strength and structure to defeat SMK Tarat 25–0 in the 3rd and 4th placing match.
