SIBU: The Ramadan Bazaar at Dataran Tun Tuanku Bujang Phase 2 has retained last year’s concept, allowing the public to break their fast at the same venue.
According to Deputy Minister of Education, Innovation and Talent Development Datuk Dr Annuar Rapaee, just as last year, chairs and tables have been provided in the area for use.
“The layout of the stalls, which was not overly crowded, has also made the area feel more spacious, with a total of 110 traders participating,” he said during the official opening of the bazaar on Friday (Feb 28).
The Nangka Assemblyman said the Ramadan bazaar will operate from March 1 until Raya night.

He advised traders to maintain cleanliness and urged the public to report to the relevant agencies if the hygiene of the food sold is unsatisfactory.
“Please report to us, the Ministry of Health, the Sibu Municipal Council (SMC) or the Nangka Service Centre. We will take strict action and will not compromise on the sale of expired food,” he added.
Meanwhile, Dr Annuar said he would implement QR codes in every shop for any complaints as was done last year.
“This year we will do the same and provide a QR code for the public to report any problems or issues they encounter,” he stressed.
During the programme Dr Annuar also distributed aprons and caps sponsored by Petros to the traders.
