KUCHING: Kuching City FC will be boosted by the return of winger Ramadhan Saifullah for the Malaysia Cup semi-final second leg against Selangor FC after he missed the first match through suspension.
Ramadhan was unavailable for selection in the first leg after accumulating two yellow cards, forcing head coach Aidil Sharin Sahak to reshuffle his attacking options.
“Unfortunately, he was suspended because of the two yellow cards. So next game he will be back. This is where I say we will try to improve ourselves,” he said after the post-match press conference.
In Ramadhan’s absence, Aidil opted for a forward line featuring Gabriel Nistelrooy, Danial Asri and Ronald Ngah Wanja as Kuching City held Selangor to a 1-1 draw at the Petaling Jaya Stadium last night (Apr 5).
Kuching City took the lead in the 42nd minute through a Ronald Ngah penalty, before the Red Giants equalised deep into injury time via Chrigor Moraes.
Despite the late setback, Aidil remained optimistic heading into the second leg in Kuching on April 18, urging supporters to turn up in numbers at the State Stadium.
“We didn’t lose, and that is a good sign for us going home. I want all Kuching fans to come and support us. It will give us more boost and motivation,” he said.
