KUCHING: The Malaysian Red Crescent Society of SJK Chung Hua No. 5 Kuching (Stampin Branch) donated RM3,146 to the Sarawak Children’s Cancer Society (SCCS), bringing festive cheer and support to children battling cancer ahead of Christmas.
The contribution, raised through the combined efforts of students, teachers and Red Crescent members, aims to ease the burden on young patients and their families while highlighting the school’s commitment to compassion and community service.
Headmistress Tay Kok Ing said that the initiative was intended to show care, love and solidarity with children undergoing cancer treatment.
“I hope that this effort could inspire greater awareness and encourage the wider community to support SCCS in providing care, accommodation and emotional support to children with cancer.
“As Christmas approaches, we hope this gesture will bring comfort and hope to the children and families under SCCS’ care, reminding them that they are not alone in their journey,” she said.
