KUCHING: Kota Sentosa assemblyman Wilfred Yap recently visited Klinik Kesihatan Kota Sentosa to show his support for their efforts in providing a conducive environment for patients of the clinic and continue to look into their various needs and requests for assistance to upgrade facilities.

During the visit, he handed over his Minor Rural Project (MRP) cheque amounting to RM35,000 to assist the clinic to purchase and instal six new air conditioners in the waiting area.

The new units will replace the existing air conditioners, which are not functioning properly and need replacement.

“This contribution is part of my ongoing commitment to supporting medical services in my constituency and ensuring that residents have access to better healthcare facilities,” he said in a statement today (Feb 4).

Yap emphasised that quality medical care is the cornerstone and foundation for a brighter future and reaffirmed his dedication to improving clinic facilities.

Earlier, he had donated 30 chairs for usage at the waiting area, constructed new carparks costing RM250,000 and renovated the pharmacy dispensing counter at a cost of RM20,000.

Additionally, he has submitted an application under his Rural Transformation Programme (RTP) 2025 allocation for the construction of a new medical laboratory building, estimated at RM500,000.

The application is currently pending approval from Premier Datuk Patinggi Tan Sri Abang Johari Tun Openg’s office.

“Infrastructure development and upgrading facilities to support medical services in primary health care is an important step  towards achieving  quality health service.

“This is because infrastructure development is an important component of a well-functioning healthcare system  to meet health care needs  and also to construct or renovate primary health facilities that are able to offer quality services,” he said.
