BINTULU: In conjunction with the arrival of Ramadan, Tanjong Batu assemblyman Johnny Pang Leong Ming has continued the annual tradition of donating dates to the Malaysian Fire and Rescue Department (Bomba) Bintulu Zone.

Pang noted that the distribution of dates has long been a tradition at the Tanjong Batu State Council Service Centre before Ramadan as a gesture of respect for the fasting Muslim community.

“This is an annual programme of our service centre, reflecting our respect for the diversity of races and religions in this area and showing our care for the community,” he said during the handover ceremony.

Alongside the dates, the initiative also included the distribution of a Ramadan timetable to help the Muslim community keep track of prayer and fasting times throughout the holy month.

“This contribution not only strengthens the spirit of goodwill among different races but also acknowledges the dedication of the Bomba team, who are always on standby to provide emergency services,” he added.
