MIRI: State’s Welfare, Community Wellbeing, Women, Family and Childhood Development Assistant Minister Datuk Rosey Yunus is hoping that the newly launched Sarawak Rural Broadband Network (MySRBN) in Long Terawan today (Apr 6) will also be established in Bekenu to accelerate internet connectivity there.

“It’s (MySRBN) a good initiative by the Sarawak government. Since the outbreak of Covid-19, the need for internet is very much crucial, especially among school children,” she said.

The internet has the potential to increase productivity in various fields apart from education.

Giving an example of social distancing during the pandemic, she said it has changed almost everything.

“It has accelerated our use of and reliance on technology to connect us in a time when the majority of our daily activities have shifted to online interactions,” the Bekenu assemblywoman said.

Commenting on the launching of the MySRBN in Long Terawan today (Apr 6), Rosey applauded the initiative by the state government as it proves that Gabungan Parti Sarawak (GPS) under Chief Minister Datuk Patinggi Abang Johari Tun Openg fulfils its promises to the rakyat.
