REPOK Assemblyman, Datuk Seri Huang Tiong Sii, has expressed strong support for the Sarawak Government’s strategic direction, highlighting key recent achievements in aviation, education and regional development.
He made these remarks while debating in support of the motion of appreciation for the Head of State, Tun Pehin Sri Dr Wan Junaidi Tuanku Jaafar’s speech, in the august House on Thursday.
“Indeed, His Excellency has shown great concern for the well-being of all Sarawakians, while also demonstrating keen attention to the state’s future direction and development,” Huang said.
He also extended heartfelt appreciation to the Premier of Sarawak, Datuk Patinggi Tan Sri Abang Johari Tun Openg, describing him as a wise and visionary leader whose policies have propelled the state’s progress and enhanced the welfare of its people.

Huang highlighted the state government’s recent acquisition of MASwings flight services as a strategic initiative that will significantly improve Sarawak’s air connectivity.
“This move is expected to create new economic and tourism development opportunities, while revitalising Sarawak’s domestic economy,” he said.
He added that it would also strengthen ties between Sarawak, Sabah and Peninsular Malaysia, while boosting the state’s regional and international presence.
On education, Huang praised the introduction of the Free Tertiary Education Policy for Sarawakian students, calling it a vital step in preparing a technologically skilled and globally competitive workforce.
“Through a holistic education system, students will gain the knowledge, skills and critical thinking abilities needed to navigate challenges and seize opportunities in today’s dynamic economic environment,” he said.
Huang also expressed confidence in the GPS-led state government’s commitment towards realising Sarawak’s vision of becoming a high-income and developed region by 2030.
“With a clear and focused vision, Sarawak is on track to achieve economic prosperity, social inclusivity, and environmental sustainability,” he added.
