MUKAH: Balingian assemblyman Abdul Yakub Arbi and Tellian assemblyman Royston Valentine spent Friday visiting several homes and locations across Mukah as part of a series of Christmas open house engagements.

The visits, which covered areas within the Tellian and Balingian state constituencies, allowed both leaders to meet residents in an informal setting while sharing in the festive celebrations.

They said the practice of visiting homes during religious festivities provided space for open conversation and closer engagement, enabling leaders to hear community concerns in a more relaxed and personal environment.

Abdul Yakub and Royston noted that Mukah’s ethnic and religious diversity remained one of the area’s strengths, contributing to social harmony and stability at the community level.

Beyond celebrating with the Christian community, the visits reflected the importance of sustained grassroots engagement as Sarawak continued its development efforts, with community wellbeing remaining a central focus.
